Meia-desfeita
This cod-based dish is often associated with Lisbon. It consists of salted cod cooked with chickpeas and typically also includes sliced onions, hard-boiled eggs, potatoes, olive oil, parsley, paprika and vinegar. Although it is usually served cold, it can also be cooked in the oven and consumed hot.
The name meia-desfeita, roughly translated as "unfinished", allegedly stems from times of famine, when tradition ordered only half of the food.
