Piragua
Piragua is a Puerto Rican dessert consisting of grated ice shaped into a pyramid and then covered with fruit-flavored syrup. It is usually sold in brightly colored cars. The name piragua means canoe in the Taino language, but no one is sure how the word relates to this colorful dessert.
The flavors of the syrups used for piraguas range from lemon, grape and strawberry to the more exotic mango, pineapple and coconut.
