Buckwheat Meatballs


  • 2 cups buckwheat
  • 250 g grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 3~4 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon of chili paste
  • 1 grated onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Red pepper
  • Cumin
  • sunflower oil for frying
  • Breadcrumbs (for topping)


Boil the buckwheat, drain and cool. After it cools down, add the grated onion, garlic, tomato paste, cheese, egg, breadcrumbs, salt and spices on it and knead. Dip the meatballs in breadcrumbs and fry them in hot oil. Serve hot.
