Turmeric Rice



  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 pack of peanuts
  • 2 cups of rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon stuffing spice
  • 1 pinch allspice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt


Fry the diced onions together with the pine nuts in olive oil. Wash and drain the rice. Add broth over the rice you bought in a pot. Add turmeric, stuffing spice, cinnamon and granulated sugar. Add salt and cook it first on medium heat and then on low heat until the eyes are tender. When the rice is soft, turn off the heat and let it brew for 10-15 minutes. Serve garnished with cashew nuts.
